The Key Center at Fountain Plaza is a twin tower complex located at the half-block surrounded by Main Street, Pearl Street
and Chippewa Street. Built in 1990 as part of the Central Business District revitalization, Key Center is the link between
Buffalo's business corridor and the Chippewa Street Entertainment District. The towers are 17 and 13 stories high and
contain over 430,000 square feet of floor space, utilized primarily by offices. The lobby contains thermal granite,
light marble and brick paving. A two–story glass atrium is the focal point of the arcade.
Skates can be rented for a nominal fee and the rink is also available for private
parties. The rink attracts 15,000 to 20,000 skaters annually.
During the summer, Rotary Rink is replaced with a reflecting pool that attracts large numbers of downtown
workers who enjoy the combination of the summer sun, cool fountains, and world–class architecture.
